Our Mission
Eugenius Foundation is a Brussels based public foundation. Its goal is to bring the Western Balkans and the European Union closer together. The Foundation believes that the Balkans are faced with problems stemming from bad management of their human capital. We propose a 5-point strategy to overcome this standstill: Education, Development, Brotherhood, Identity and Spirituality.
Education
We believe that the Western Balkans, a region facing numerous challenges, can only commence its journey towards transformation through appropriate education of the children and the youth. By providing correct role models and imparting lessons on moral and social responsibilities, we trust the young people would understand and adopt behaviours beneficial to themselves and the society at large. This shift can pave the way for a safer, more prosperous life for them and their relatives, leading to overall societal improvement.
Development
To truly harness the benefits of quality education, we need to apply it in our daily lives. It is through the unique, innovative utilization of this knowledge that individuals can contribute to societal growth and advancement. We propose that by fostering both institutional and economic expansion in the region, its society will experience a surge in democracy, improved governance, and the genesis of new profit-generating industries. This in turn can bring prosperity to local communities.
Brotherhood
Progress in life necessitates harmonious cooperation. Fostering an environment which encourages young people, as well as adults, to engage in collective learning or collaborative projects, is likely to inspire a revolutionary mindset and action plan within the region. This altered approach to problem-solving, we believe, will be adopted by communities, institutions, and industries, thereby transforming their work ethic.
Identity
In an era of rapid globalization and eroding national particularities, we advocate for nations bound by the same symbols, language, and people. We uphold the view that every nation is equal, and its unique identity deserves respect and freedom. Strength, we assert, lies in our united diversity.
Spirituality
Europe, being a hub of diverse religions, universally shares the core value of peace. We believe that the Western Balkans, being a segment of this European landscape, should strive to operate harmoniously and thrive in a way that reflects the traditions and principles established over centuries in Western Europe.
